It's not as big a loss as it looks, because now I have leftover supplies, which will help me talk myself into doing this all over again with a new project!

"It's not as big a loss as it looks, because now I have leftover supplies, which will help me talk myself into doing this all over again with a new project!" In AI-project's case, the leftovers are tons of learning and skills. The tokens are burnt for good, however.
