It seems the AI real costs are finally catching up. After Anthropic raised their prices (by changing the way they tokenise), it's now GitHub Copilot's turn to announce changes. First they have suspended new onboarding in the student and pro tiers, and there are talks to pass to token pricing instead of plans. I think we're going to see more work on AI efficiency by both providers and users.
